Independent kitchen research
About Kitchen Choice Lab
Why this publication exists, how it approaches product research, and what readers should expect from its recommendations.
Last updated July 20, 2026Why the publication exists
Kitchen Choice Lab helps American households make practical kitchen decisions before they buy. Our guides focus on dimensions, usable capacity, storage, care, safety-sensitive instructions, and the trade-offs that product listings often compress or omit.
The publication is designed to solve a reader's problem first. Some useful answers lead to a product category; others lead to a measurement, a simpler layout, or a decision not to buy.
Founder and publisher
Jay Sudha founded and publishes Kitchen Choice Lab as an independent publication. His primary professional website is https://jaysudha.com. He is responsible for the site's editorial systems, sourcing standards, disclosures, and correction process.
Jay builds research-led educational publications, calculators, spreadsheets, and practical decision tools. Kitchen Choice Lab does not present him as a chef, appliance engineer, dietitian, or hands-on test-lab specialist. Each guide states whether it is based on editorial research, verified specifications, owner-feedback analysis, or documented hands-on testing.
How products are selected
- Define the household, kitchen, and use-case constraints.
- Shortlist only products or product types that plausibly fit those constraints.
- Verify current specifications, manuals, care requirements, warranty terms, and replacement-part considerations.
- Compare limitations alongside advantages.
- Document whether a conclusion is researched, specification-verified, owner-feedback analysis, or genuinely hands-on tested.
What has and has not been tested
The current starter guides are editorially researched. They do not claim hands-on product testing. A hands-on label may be used only when the site holds genuine testing notes, original photographs, dates, and reviewer evidence.
How the site is funded
Kitchen Choice Lab may earn commissions from clearly disclosed affiliate links and may later display advertising. Readers do not pay extra because of an affiliate link. Commercial relationships do not determine rankings or editorial conclusions.
